The building project, which is 63 metres high, was realised by UKM Infrastruktur Management GmbH under the direction of Managing Director and architect Stephan Triphaus, who, together with his team, designed the entire architecture to match the panoramic view from all sides when adding a 21st floor to the east tower. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a calm and restrained colour concept repeatedly draw the eye to the impressive view of Münster and the surrounding area.
To emphasise the lounge character, BARiT installed a seamless MASTERTERRAZZO. A combination of beige aggregates made of stone, glass and creamy granules emphasises a modern, sophisticated terrazzo look.
In combination with the BARIT manufacturer and supplier declaration, the requirements for the harmonised standards in accordance with DIN EN 13813 for the use of the flooring in recreation rooms with proof of emission behaviour in accordance with the ASR1.5/1.2 workplace directive are ensured. The quality of the flooring is guaranteed by the AgBB tests and the external and in-house inspections by TÜV Hessen. The BARiT MASTERTERRAZZO can be used for LEED and DGNB projects as it fulfils the highest requirements.

The lift from level 03 East in the UKM (University Hospital Münster) takes 21 seconds to reach level 21 East without interruption and when the lift door opens, all guests, whether employees, patients or visitors, are treated to a unique view of Münster and the surrounding area. This panoramic view makes the new café-bistro "21 Ost" a special place above the rooftops of the city, not only in the UKM, but certainly in the whole of Münster.
A stylish lounge atmosphere combined with an attractive culinary offer invites you to linger.
The all-round panoramic view of Münster and the surrounding area is always free of charge. In good weather, a wind-protected outdoor area is also available. A special eye-catcher on the roof terrace of the Café-Bistro "21 Ost" are the trees that lean away from the weather.
